PNN – Stressing global unity and solidarity against the growing wave of Islamophobia and anti-Muslim hatred, senior Pakistani officials called for the immediate appointment of a United Nations special envoy to combat the phenomenon of Islamophobia.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today, on the occasion of the International Day against Islamophobia, in a message, emphasized his country’s commitment and steadfastness to spread the true messages of Islam based on love, peace, and tolerance.
He added: Pakistan also eagerly awaits the early appointment of the UN Special Envoy to Combat Islamophobia as an important milestone to address this challenge.

Shahbaz Sharif continued: The International Day against Islamophobia serves as a catalyst for global unity and solidarity, not only in speaking out and taking action against the growing wave of Islamophobia and hate speech against Muslims, but also in promoting dialogue, harmony, and mutual understanding between religions, denominations, cultures, and civilizations, as this is inevitable for overcoming differences and creating mutual respect among different societies.
Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, also said in a message: On this day, we once again call on the international community, human rights organizations, and leaders of international communities to raise awareness about the scourge of Islamophobia and to prevent the desecration of the Holy Quran, attacks on mosques, and other acts against Muslims.
He added: The increasing instances of Islamophobic rhetoric, hate speech and attacks on Muslim communities, mosques and sacred symbols are deeply concerning and unacceptable, and require an immediate and strong global response.
The Pakistani Foreign Minister emphasized that the International Day against Islamophobia should serve as a strong call to action, an opportunity to build a world where people of all beliefs can live together in harmony, where understanding overcomes fear and mutual respect transcends differences.
The United Nations issued a resolution designating March 15 as the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, a decision that is considered a milestone in the fight against Islamophobia internationally.
