President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and senior Pakistani military officials congratulated the country’s forces, scientists, and engineers following the successful launch of these missiles, and expressed confidence in the full operational readiness and technical efficiency of Pakistan’s strategic forces to ensure reliable deterrence and protect national security against any aggression.

The April 22 attack on the Pahalgam resort in Indian-controlled Kashmir killed 26 people, most of them tourists. India blamed its neighbor for the attack, but Islamabad denied any involvement.

However, Islamabad has proposed an impartial, third-party-monitored investigation into the dimensions of the incident.
