Pakistan: The US report on terrorism is an inversion of facts

PNN – Pakistan, expressing regret over the annual report of the US Department of State on terrorism, described its contents as contradictory and considered Washington’s claims against Islamabad to be an inversion of facts.

According to Pakistan News Network, in his weekly press conference in Islamabad, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan expressed his regret over the neglect of this country’s role in the fight against terrorism and blocking the financing of terrorist elements.

Mumtaz Zahra said: Islamabad is fully aware of its responsibilities as an independent country and rejects the claim made in the American report about terrorism.

He emphasized: In the American report, there is no mention of Pakistan’s role in the collapse of global terrorism networks, while more than 80,000 Pakistani security forces and civilians lost their lives in the fight against terrorism, and we suffered hundreds of billions of dollars in damages.

The spokesperson of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the country’s commitments to fight against illegal groups, arrest and punish members of disbanded organizations, advance programs related to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), and implement the CFT regime. The American report of inversion of facts and incomplete contents of the past years is repeated in it.

In the middle of September this year, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, expressing concern about the situation in Afghanistan and the dangerous consequences of terrorism in this country for other countries in the region, said: the irresponsible withdrawal of US forces and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) from this country has led to the intensification of chaos in Afghanistan.

Emphasizing Islamabad’s demand for bilateral cooperation with Washington based on mutual respect, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar said: “We do not consider it necessary to agree with the Americans on any issue.”
