PNN – The Minister of Defense of Pakistan considered the visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyed Ibrahim Raisi to Islamabad very important and successful and emphasized: We are optimistic about finding a way to advance the joint gas project with Tehran.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, quoting Pakistan’s Geo News Network, Khawaja Mohammad Asif said about Seyed Ibrahim Raisi’s recent trip to Islamabad and meeting with high-ranking Pakistani officials: It was a very successful trip and we are confident of its achievements.
The Minister of Defense of Pakistan, referring implicitly to America, which has recently expressed concern about the strengthening of cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad, added: “We don’t care about foreign opposition, so if anyone is in pain after Ayatollah Raisi’s visit, we have no medicine for their pain.”
He clearly described the future of Iran’s gas pipeline to Pakistan and added: We believe that we will find a way to advance the joint gas project and bring it to the operational stage.
In another part of his statement, Khawaja Mohammad Asif called for the unity of the countries of the region to face common challenges and said: “Unfortunately, the dual approach of the West and their continuous support for Israel has made the region extremely vulnerable.”
The Minister of Defense of Pakistan stated: Our region is witnessing an increase in the intervention of great powers, so we must be present on the same front to defend our interests. In such a situation, the visit of the President of Iran to Pakistan is very important.
He considered terrorism as a common threat to Islamabad and Tehran and added: overcoming the threat of terrorism is inevitable, therefore both brotherly countries are determined to increase their cooperation in this field.
Referring to the Western Front’s support for the Israeli regime, Khawaja Mohammad Asif also said: “Supporting Palestine is the responsibility and duty of Pakistan, and we believe that the genocide of the people of Gaza is a crime that we have not seen in history.”
Raisi arrived in Islamabad on Monday morning in his first foreign trip in the new year.
He had a busy day in Islamabad. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar met with the President at the hotel where he is staying and then went to the Prime Minister’s Palace. where Pakistan Prime Minister Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif officially welcomed him. After that, bilateral meetings and then consultations between high-level delegations were held under the chairmanship of the heads of the two countries.
Officials of Iran and Pakistan also signed 8 memorandums of cooperation in the presence of Raisi and Shahbaz Sharif.
