Pakistan warned of possible attack on areas in Afghanistan

PNN – Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif questioned Kabul’s sincerity regarding the Taliban’s terrorist activities and warned of possible strikes in Afghan territory.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, in an interview with Geo News, Asif stated that Pakistan might conduct operations in Afghanistan following recent attacks in Islamabad and South Waziristan.

He did not rule out carrying out operations in Afghan territory, noting that those supported by the Afghan Taliban have repeatedly attacked Pakistan.

Referring to a statement by the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemning the recent terrorist attack in Islamabad, the Pakistani minister questioned the credibility and sincerity of the Taliban authorities.

Asif emphasized that Pakistan will never initiate any military adventurism but will not allow any aggressive acts to go unanswered.

The Defense Minister added that Pakistan will respond with strength and determination.

The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack on Tuesday in Islamabad. The presence of some TTP elements in Afghanistan has heightened tensions between Kabul and Islamabad.
