PNN – Senior Pakistani political and religious figures participated in the commemoration of International Quds Day, which was held by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Islamabad. They condemned the continuation of Zionist crimes in Gaza and called for strengthening the unity of the Islamic Ummah to support Palestine and confront the Israeli and American regimes.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, a grand ceremony to commemorate International Quds Day and an Iftar banquet were held at the Serena International Hotel in Islamabad, hosted by Reza Amiri-Moghaddam, the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, in the presence of government officials, political figures, ambassadors and diplomats of foreign countries, academics, and media members.
Pakistani figures marked International Quds Day by condemning Israeli crimes. They emphasized that the main need today to confront America and Israel lies in true Muslim unity and avoiding differences.
The ceremony was attended by Noorul Haq Qadri, former Minister of Religious Affairs of Pakistan, Liaquat Baloch, Vice President of Jamaat-e-Islami, Senator Raja Zafarul Haq of the Muslim League-Nawaz, Senator Nasser Abbas Jafari, Chairman of the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, and Mushahid Hussain Syed, former Chairman of the Defense Affairs Committee of the Senate of Pakistan. Seyyed Nir Hossein Bukhari, Secretary General of the People’s Party, and Ms. Tayyiba Bukhari spoke about the importance of International Quds Day and the role of Imam Khomeini (RA), the great founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in defending the rights of the Palestinian people and strengthening the anti-Zionist front in the world.
The Islamic world should stand on the right side of history for Palestine.
Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan said at the ceremony: On International Quds Day, which is held annually around the world on the orders of Imam Khomeini (RA), the great founder of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, the world becomes aware of the issues and problems of the oppressed Palestinian people.
Reza Amiri Moghadam added: By designating the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day, Imam Khomeini (RA) raised the key responsibility of the Islamic nation for resolving the Palestinian issue and liberating the holy city of Quds.
He said: Today, the brave Palestinian fighters and other resistance groups have emerged victorious in an unequal war against the Zionist regime and its main supporter, America, and today the world is witnessing the effects of the defeat of the evil axis against the oppressed and the brave fighters.
The Iranian ambassador praised the heartfelt support of the justice-seeking nations of the world, Islamic countries for Palestine, and the holding of large demonstrations against the crimes of Israel and America in all parts of the world, saying: The honorable government and people of Pakistan have also, since the beginning of the Gaza war, fairly supported Gaza and the Palestinian ideals to the best of their ability, and this neighboring country deserves great appreciation.
Pakistani figures continued by paying tribute to the noble status of the martyrs of the Palestinian resistance and Imam Khomeini (may Allah have mercy on him), emphasizing: The late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, by designating the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day, provided a historic spirit to the Palestinians and their global supporters.
Senator Jafari, a representative of the Pakistani Senate, said that today the path forward has been determined for the oppressed nations of the region to resist the aggression and conspiracies of America and Israel, and we must follow the teachings of Imam Khomeini (may Allah have mercy on him) to defend Gaza and liberate Jerusalem.
