PNN – Praising the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran to prevent the spread of conflicts in the region, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan emphasized: Islamabad wants to use diplomacy to solve the nuclear issue of Iran.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar said today during a speech at the 32nd session of the ASEAN regional assembly in Kuala Lumpur that since the beginning of the recent crisis in the Middle East caused by Israel’s aggression against Iran, Pakistan has supported Tehran’s right to protect its sovereignty and defend itself.
He added: We welcome the establishment of a ceasefire between the Islamic Republic of Iran and (the aggressor regime) Israel and we praise Tehran’s efforts to prevent the spread of conflicts.
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister emphasized: We hope that Iran’s nuclear issue will be resolved through diplomacy and dialogue and not through force.
Referring to the situation in Gaza, he said: Israel’s continuous invasion of Palestinian lands is still a big concern for Pakistan, and we believe that the main cause of this conflict in the Middle East is the continuous occupation of Palestinian lands.
Senator Mohammad Ishaq emphasized: Urgent international action is necessary to end Israel’s aggression, guarantee unhindered access to humanitarian aid and hold the occupying regime accountable for its crimes.
He added: We once again emphasize our unwavering and principled support for the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to determine their own destiny and to establish an independent, stable and continuous Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister said: In the South China Sea, Pakistan supports all efforts for regional peace and dialogue. We value our relations with all Asia-Pacific countries and seek to resolve disputes through diplomacy with mutual respect.
He emphasized: Peace in this vital region requires non-interference, restraint and interaction. Pakistan reiterates its firm support for the “One China Policy” and recognizes the People’s Republic of China as the sole legitimate authority over Taiwan.
The Foreign Minister of Pakistan stated that this country supports the basic principles of the United Nations Charter on the right to self-determination, non-use of force, peaceful settlement of disputes and respect for sovereignty.
He added: Pakistan, like other developing countries, as a result of the war in Ukraine, has faced indirect consequences, increasing food and energy insecurity, so we hope that this conflict will also be resolved based on the UN Charter and through negotiation.
In addition to the bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister also met with his counterparts from Russia, England, Canada and Australia on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit.
