Pakistan’s Foreign Minister: We have a vision aligned with Iran for regional peace

PNN – Expressing confidence in the achievements of Shahbaz Sharif’s recent visit to Tehran and meeting with high-ranking officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan said that Tehran and Islamabad have aligned positions to promote bilateral cooperation, especially in establishing regional peace and security.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, at a press conference in Islamabad today, explained the goals and results of Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s recent regional trips, including his official visit to Iran.

He added that a very important and timely visit was made by high-ranking Pakistani political and military officials to neighboring Iran, and the two sides exchanged very close views and coordination to promote peace and stability in the region.

Referring to his country’s Prime Minister’s meeting with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezishkiyan, the Pakistani Foreign Minister said that Tehran and Islamabad are aligned for regional peace and security.

Senator Eshaq Dar added: We appreciate Iran’s brotherly efforts, including those of Dr. Araghchi, to help reduce tensions in South Asia.

He continued: The Iranian Foreign Minister made a bilateral visit to Islamabad in recent weeks and held detailed talks with Pakistani government officials, and we shared our positions with our Iranian friends.

The Pakistani Foreign Minister emphasized that cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad will be strengthened to increase the level of trade interactions and regional communications, especially under the umbrella of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

He emphasized: Shahbaz Sharif’s meeting with the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei, and Dr. Pezishkiyan, President of Iran, was very constructive and useful.

The Pakistani Foreign Minister added that Iranian and Pakistani politicians held important consultations on the Islamic world, especially the Palestinian and Kashmir conflicts.

He said that the ceasefire between Pakistan and India is on the right track, however, Pakistan will not compromise on its rights and Islamabad considers any suspension of the joint water treaty by India as a red line.

Muhammad Ishaq Dar also announced that the Pakistani Prime Minister will leave for Saudi Arabia tomorrow, Thursday, on an official visit.
