Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announces salary hike for Islamabad police
ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a salary increase for the Islamabad police during his visit to the Police Lines Headquarters on Friday. This move comes in recognition of the officers’ dedication, particularly during recent political protests.
According to Geo News, the Prime Minister also met with the family of Constable Abdul Hameed, who was martyred during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protests. He expressed his condolences and praised the officers for their service under challenging circumstances.
During his visit, Prime Minister Sharif assured that the families of those martyrs who had not yet received the full benefits of the Shaheed Package would be compensated. He directed relevant officials to expedite this process and also emphasized the need to accelerate the construction of the National Police Hospital.
The visit was accompanied by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Atta Tarar, and other officials from the Islamabad administration. The Prime Minister’s decision to raise police salaries was welcomed as a morale booster for the force, acknowledging their sacrifices and efforts in maintaining law and order.
