PTI Islamabad president arrested again, party claims

Aamir Mughal ‘arrested’ from outside DC office.
Party says he visited DC office to seek NOC for PTI rally.
PTI counsel Asim Baig confirms his arrest.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Islamabad President Aamir Mughal has been arrested, party claimed in a social media post on Thursday.

The PTI claimed Mughal was arrested from outside the deputy commissioner’s office in the federal capital. PTI lawyer Asim Baig also confirmed the report of his arrest.

As per the P TI, Aamir Mughal had gone to the Islamabad DC office to seek the no objection certificate for the party’s rally in the city on July 6.

Mughal was earlier arrested on May 23, during a raid by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) along with police on PTI’s Central Secretariat.

The CDA had demolished a portion of the P T I office over a “violation of building rules”, drawing strong condemnation from the Imran Khan’s party.

During this process, P T I activists had resisted the government’s attempts to demolish the office, leading to the arrest of some party workers by the capital city police.

Following the completion of the operation, the CDA officials had sealed the PTI’s central office and also pasted the order on it.
