Sindh CM Murad Shah, others acquitted in Nooriabad Power project case

ISLAMABAD – An accountability court has acquitted all accused, including Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, in the Nooriabad Power Project reference, accepting the NAB chairman’s request to withdraw the reference.

Judge Nasir Javed Rana of the Islamabad Accountability Court conducted the hearing regarding the Nooriabad reference against Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and others.

The defendants’ lawyer, Barrister Qasim Nawaz Abbasi, appeared in court. The court approved the NAB chairman’s request to withdraw the reference and acquitted all defendants.

The reference had accused the Sindh Chief Minister of using his influence and violating regulations to release funds for the Nooriabad Power Plant.
