PNN – An explosion near a judicial complex in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, has killed at least 12 people and injured 27.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing CNN, the explosion occurred around noon near the entrance to the Supreme Court in Islamabad.
The Pakistani capital has multiple layers of security, and the explosion occurred in the parking lot of the city’s busy judicial and administrative complex.

The explosion was so powerful that it was heard several kilometers away and several cars parked near the courthouse were destroyed. The courthouse hosts hundreds of visitors daily.
Two security officials told The Associated Press that the explosion was caused by a car bomb. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Pakistani authorities have launched a massive investigation to identify the perpetrators of the incident and the reasons for its occurrence, and security measures have been increased around the judicial complex and other sensitive areas of the capital.
The attack came less than a day after militants attacked a military college in northwest Pakistan.
