PNN – Referring to the high popularity of Imran Khan among Pakistanis, the Secretary General of the Pakistan Ummah Institute said: Analysts believe that under the current conditions, the new government will not last more than two years.
The Pakistan People’s Party and the Muslim League, led by Nawaz Sharif, announced that they had reached an agreement to form the government, far from the parties supported by Imran Khan, the former prime minister of this country. Earlier, the Pakistan People’s Party had announced that it would support Hizb Sharif (Nawaz Muslim League) to form a minority government. The Election Commission of Pakistan announced the final results after three days of the election, according to which the independent candidates affiliated to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf led by Imran Khan won 102 seats out of 265 seats. After that, the Pakistan Muslim League led by Nawaz Sharif won 73 seats and the Pakistan People’s Party led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari won 54 seats.
Hojjatul Islam Shahidi, Secretary General of the United Ummah Institute of Pakistan, analyzed the recent events of this country in the meeting of analyzing the political and security developments of Pakistan, which was held in the presence of Mohammad Reza Moradi, the director of foreign news of Mehr News Agency. We read the text of the interview of this meeting below:
Pakistan is one of the countries close to Iran. And it can be said that we are faced with a complacency regarding this country, that is, the general audience and researchers are facing complications regarding Pakistan’s issues, including the continuation of economic and security problems. These questions are raised, when are these problems and security and political groupings going to end in Pakistan? What is the role of security services in the administration of this country? Does this country have an army or did the army form Pakistan?
We have to look at the issue of Pakistan from a historical point of view. Muhammad Ali Jinnah was a great leader and the founder of Pakistan. When Pakistan was formed, there was a conflict between Hindus and Muslims and both were fighting with the British. Muslims thought they could not live with Hindus, so they started a political movement. When the Republic of Pakistan was formed, the largest country in terms of Muslim population was Pakistan, and Bangladesh was part of Pakistan. At that time, the country of Pakistan consisted of Shia, Sunni, Ismaili, Punjabi, Sindhi, Bengali and Baloch sects and religious tendencies and all ethnicities lived together and were led by Muhammad Ali Jinnah. When Pakistan was liberated, the British created problems and problems in terms of discipline and management. These issues caused problems after Muhammad Ali Jinnah from the very first days of the establishment. Instead of the political method and culture taking root in this country, the army, which had the power and weapons, ruled the country.
The democratic method gradually faded and the main power was in the hands of the army. Those who come to work in any country through elections and people’s vote pay attention to the opinion of the people in their decisions, but those who want to rule a country with power, they do not care about the people, and this practice gradually increased in Pakistan and its roots are strong. With the passage of time, politicians always needed soldiers and this caused Pakistan, a country with a deep culture, to lag behind other countries.
India was founded one day after Pakistan on August 15, 1947. Indian political culture has consolidated and developed over time. At the same time when Pakistan was formed, one rupee was equivalent to two US dollars, and India was economically behind us, and Bangladesh was part of Pakistan. The Americans were coming to Pakistan and the Chinese were borrowing from Pakistan, which meant that Pakistan had a lot of resources. But that democratic practice and culture did not take root in this country, and as a result, people gradually took power and acted as they wished, most of whom were soldiers. If we divide the history of more than 70 years of Pakistan, about 30 years were in the hands of those who came to power through elections, and nearly 40 years of the country were in the hands of the army.

The best and brilliant talent of Pakistanis in Europe and America
But in terms of education, culture and talent in the whole world, if you search, most people are from the subcontinent and Pakistanis. You see them in good positions in Europe and America. Pakistanis in the whole world and in universities and experimental sciences have good talent compared to other countries. Pakistan is the seventh nuclear country in the world. This country is very important geographically and culturally and the depth of religious thoughts. In the field of religion, the people of Pakistan adhere to religion and in the field of serving the people of Pakistan, they help the poor most of all.
The main problem of Pakistan is the lack of a strong leader and political system
Pakistanis are also more sensitive than other countries in terms of religious culture and anti-arrogance. In the same issue of Gaza, Pakistan is the country that sanctioned the production of western companies more than any other country, although it was done by the people, not the government. The problem of Pakistan is that it does not have a strong leader and system and its dependency is increasing day by day. In fact, the more your dependence increases, the less authority you have and you have to adopt your own policies according to the opinion of the country you have become dependent on.
In the issue of Pakistan elections, as you know, Imran Khan’s party was declared terrorist and illegal and all signs of this party were removed from the list. But we saw that his supporters voted more than all other parties and took about 100 seats. This issue sent a strong message to the people who arrested Imran Khan. In your opinion, what are the reasons for people’s support for Imran Khan and what will be the fate of the government in spite of various stone-throwing on Imran Khan’s path?
When Imran Khan came to power, he was not the one who came to power. Any party that comes to power in Pakistan must have the army behind it, and if the army does not support it, it cannot come to power. Although the elections are apparently free and people vote, the system is such that the people’s vote has no effect. It is possible that a person may not win despite the people’s vote, or he may enter the parliament despite the people not voting for a person. The system is in the hands of the army. The army always does its work behind the scenes.
Imran Khan’s efforts were to save Pakistan from the clutches of the Americans
When the army helped and Imran Khan came to power, people became hopeful. He took steps politically which if continued would have changed Pakistan in the next 10 years. He showed with his behavior and words that we should be free and not depend on the East and West and we should reduce our dependence. In foreign policy, his actions made Pakistan get out of the hands of the Americans. This behavior could not be tolerated by the Americans and the army, and the conflict between Vartesh and Imran Khan started from there.
These conflicts increased with Imran Khan’s visit to Russia when the war in Ukraine started. His trip to Russia was politically unbearable for the military and the United States, because he wanted to import energy from Moscow at a lower cost, which the Americans did not allow.
The deadline for holding the election passed and the election was not held, and this was against the law. Although the judicial system issued a ruling that the elections should be held, the elections were not held and were postponed for 6 months. The government that was present in the center of the states was not legal but the power was in the hands of the army. The army could not legally expel this party from the field during the elections, but they took the election symbol from his party with filings and his party could not participate in the elections as a political party.
As you know, due to the illiteracy of some people, each party has a symbol in the elections, and people can choose their party by choosing the symbols. The members of Imran Khan’s party got their badge confused with some other badges and all the tricks were used to get them less votes but they got around 100 seats.
The formed government does not last more than two years
With all these measures, Imran Khan’s popularity increased and when they wanted to form a government, many problems were created for those involved in the regime, and this atmosphere did not allow his opponents to achieve their goal. Therefore, all those parties that were in the government after the removal of Imran Khan are now together and want to form a government, but a government that has no international credibility and weak popular support. In such a situation, the People’s Party is forming a government with the Muslim League, but the People’s Party showed its cleverness. They said that we are not taking the position of a minister in the cabinet, in fact we only want the presidency, the presidency of the National Assembly and the Senate. Currently, the value of money has decreased, but people’s rights have not changed, and the price has reached a point where only people can spend their income on food. In such an environment where the future government is faced with multiple debt and inflation, analysts believe that it will only last between one and a half to two years, not more.
