PNN – In a visit to Beijing just a few weeks after the deadly attack on Chinese nationals in the city of Karachi, Pakistan’s army chief assured China that the Pakistani army and government are committed to protecting China’s interests, especially strengthening the security of its nationals in Pakistan.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, from the public relations of the Pakistan Army, General Mohammad Owais Dasgtir met with Chinese Army Commander General Li Chiao Ming in Beijing and discussed global and regional developments as well as pursuing bilateral measures to strengthen military cooperation.
Expressing regret over the death of a number of Chinese nationals following a terrorist attack in Karachi, Pakistan, he assured his Chinese counterpart that the Pakistani government and army guarantee the protection of the interests of China and its nationals in Pakistan and are committed to a relentless fight against terrorists as common enemies of the two countries.

In this meeting, the commander of the Chinese army also appreciated the efforts and actions of the Pakistani army to improve the security of the Chinese and assured the continuation of Beijing’s strong support to Islamabad.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to increase mutual cooperation to deal with common enemies that work against regional peace and development.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian, in a statement today (Monday), while expressing strong support for Pakistan’s anti-terrorism operations, noted that the relations between the two countries are immune from any threats.
He added: The two countries are determined and capable to thwart any conspiracy to weaken China-Pakistan relations and punish the terrorists for their actions.
The spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that Beijing and Islamabad are comprehensive strategic partners and long-standing and deep-rooted friends and said: No attempt to undermine mutual trust and cooperation between the two countries will succeed, and China will continue to support Pakistan’s economic and social development and improve the lives of its people.
