10 British nationals charged with war crimes in Gaza war

PNN – According to reports, a case has been filed against 10 British citizens who served in the Israeli army during the Gaza war for committing war crimes and crimes against humanity.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Guardian newspaper, a complaint against 10 Britons who served alongside the Israeli army in Gaza is to be submitted to the London police by a group of prominent British human rights lawyers.

Michael Mansfield is one of the lawyers who will present the 240-page complaint to Scotland Yard’s war crimes unit on Monday. According to the case, the targeted killing of civilians and aid workers by snipers and indiscriminate attacks on civilian areas such as hospitals are among the war crimes committed by the 10 Britons.

The Guardian, without naming the defendants for legal reasons, noted that Israel has so far denied any accusations of war crimes during the Gaza war, which has left more than 50,000 dead.

Mansfield, a leading British lawyer who has appeared in high-profile cases, told the Guardian: If one of our citizens commits a crime, we have to do something. Even if we cannot stop the bad behavior of foreign governments, we must at least prevent the illegal behavior of our own citizens.

The report, submitted on behalf of the Gaza-based Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) and the UK-based Public Interest Law Center (PILC), covers crimes committed in the occupied territories from October 2023 to May 2024.

Several witnesses to the crimes committed by British nationals working at a medical facility have testified in this regard: While bodies were lying on the ground in the middle of the hospital yard, a bulldozer was driven over the dead in a harrowing scene. They added that the bulldozer also destroyed part of the hospital.

According to the British constitution, “it is against the laws of England and Wales to commit genocide, a crime against humanity or a war crime, even if it occurs in another country.”
