PNN – Despite the widespread Israeli regime’s ban on worshippers attending Al-Aqsa Mosque, tens of thousands of Palestinians attended the holy site last night to perform Isha and Taraweeh prayers.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Islamic Endowments Authority of occupied Jerusalem announced that 100,000 Palestinian worshippers attended Al-Aqsa Mosque last night to perform Isha and Taraweeh prayers.

According to this report, the large presence of Palestinians in Al-Aqsa Mosque comes at a time when the Israeli regime is imposing severe restrictions on worshippers in this holy place this year.

The Zionist occupiers prevented West Bank residents from entering Al-Aqsa Mosque and turned back thousands of them from the Qalandiya checkpoint located north of occupied Jerusalem.

Yesterday, Ikrimah Sabri, the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, announced in an interview with Al Jazeera: The Zionist occupation regime began planning to impose restrictions on worshippers during the month of Ramadan about a month ago.

He said: The occupying forces, citing security reasons, are unhappy with the large presence of thousands of Muslims in Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the aim of these plans is to reduce the number of Muslims in the city of Jerusalem and this holy place.

The preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque emphasized: The measures and restrictions imposed this year have been more severe and tense than in previous years.
