PNN – In a letter, 145 members of the US Congress requested President Donald Trump to change his controversial plan to “dominate Gaza” and deport two million Palestinians.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the members of the US Congress expressed concern about Trump’s plan regarding Gaza, regarding the forced migration of two million Palestinians.
145 members of the US Congress also said that the region desperately needs real solutions and that the US cannot present forced migration as a solution to this conflict.
The members of the American Congress stated: Hosting the Palestinians by neighboring countries will not guarantee Israel’s security and will not serve as a long-term political solution.
They also encouraged the President of the United States to work with Israel and regional and international partners to support the ceasefire agreement and the return of all prisoners.
This letter was prepared under the leadership of Sean Kasten and Brad Sherman and was signed by more than two-thirds of the Democrats in the House of Representatives, including the majority of Jewish members.
143 Democratic lawmakers also signed a letter asking Trump to abandon his plan to occupy the Gaza Strip and forcefully relocate Palestinians.
These Democratic representatives said: Your comments may jeopardize the opportunity for the United States to work with our Arab partners. These countries have once again emphasized their commitment to establishing comprehensive peace in the region through the reconstruction of Gaza.
J Street President Jeremy Ben Ami said: It is an open rebuke of Trump’s destructive Gaza “plan,” which has destabilized the fragile ceasefire, put prisoners at greater risk, and provided terrorist groups with a means of recruitment. The timing is especially important now, as Trump looks to enlist powerful partners like Egypt and Jordan to make the hated plan work.
