PNN – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced the initial death toll from clashes between Syrian interim government security forces and protesters over the past two days in various parts of the country at 147 people.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Inter-combat clashes in Syria’s coastal areas have killed 78 people, including 37 members of the defense and interior ministries, 34 armed individuals affiliated with the former regime, and seven civilians.
According to the report, dozens of people from both sides have also been injured, missing, and captured.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights added: The impact of these clashes also extended to Syrian civilians, and the clashes spread to the city of Latakia and the towns of Haffa, Al-Mukhtariyah, and Al-Shir in its outskirts.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights added that it has obtained videotapes and documents from local residents confirming the execution of 69 people from the Alawite sect by security forces of the interim Golani government in the coastal provinces of Syria.
The monitor added that it has documented information about additional deaths that it is not yet able to confirm.
Syria’s coastal areas have witnessed increased clashes between the country’s interim government security forces and civilians over the past two days.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights added: In this context, the security forces of the Syrian interim government have entered the provinces of Latakia and Tartus extensively to support the military forces affiliated with the Golani government.
The Observatory added that the videos showed the bodies of the victims lying on the ground in the villages amid horrific scenes of intense crying by the victims’ families. The incidents come amid ongoing clashes on the Syrian coast between forces of the Defense and State Ministries of the Syrian interim government on one side and militias of the former regime’s army on the other.
According to the Observatory’s report, forces from the Ministries of Defense and State of the Syrian interim government took control of the city of Banias after forcing the armed men to retreat from the city.
According to the report, amid the continued arrival of reinforcements to the coastal areas of Syria, these forces are currently controlling the city’s outskirts and highways using artillery and heavy machine guns.
100 members of the Syrian interim government’s security forces killed
On the other hand, the Syrian Network for Human Rights told Al-Arabi that armed men loyal to the Assad regime killed 100 members of the Syrian government’s security forces, and about 125 Syrian citizens were killed in the countryside of Latakia, Tartus, and Hama by the security forces of the Syrian interim government.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights stated that the security forces of the Syrian interim government committed dangerous crimes and carried out widespread executions during their operations in the provinces of Latakia and Tartus.
The Syrian Human Rights Network added that more than 50 Syrian citizens lost their lives as a result of extrajudicial executions by the security forces of the Syrian interim government.
Sheikh Alawian killed by Syrian interim government security forces
Some Syrian media outlets also reported the killing of Shaban Mansour, a 90-year-old Alawite sheikh, and his son by the security forces of the Syrian interim government, adding that the bodies of the Alawite sheikh and his son were found near the city of Salhab on the Syrian coast after they were arrested by security forces.
Local sources said that Shaaban Mansour was considered the most prominent religious symbol of the Alawite sect throughout Syria and was a sheikh who always called the Syrian people to humanity and peace. He was martyred after being kidnapped along with his son Hussein by the security forces of the Syrian interim government.
Latakia fell into silence.
Syrian media reported a power outage in most parts of Latakia province due to a failure in the 230 kV (high voltage) transformer line in Latakia, adding that the power outage in the city of Latakia was due to sabotage caused by terrorist operations.
Latakia Governor Muhammad Othman said that the reason for the power outage in most parts of the province was damage to one of the high-voltage lines supplying Latakia due to sabotage.
The people of western Syria, including the cities of Latakia and Tartus, rose up on Thursday night and demonstrated against the policies of the new Syrian government headed by “Ahmad al-Sharaa”, nicknamed Golani.
