PNN – The Iranian ambassador to Berlin criticized the decision of the European Union Council of Ministers regarding the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, announcing that this action will have consequences.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Majid Nili, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Germany, criticized the European Union’s action in labeling the Iranian armed forces and discussed the consequences of this decision.
Nili wrote in an article referring to four consequences of this decision: First, this action is a direct gift to organized terrorism and registered terrorists centered on the Israeli regime, while European leaders know that Europe’s security is indebted to the unparalleled role of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in defeating ISIS and preventing its elements from being sent to Europe; which is a clear example of ingratitude.
The Iranian diplomat considered the second consequence of this decision to be calling the official armed force of an independent country a terrorist organization, emphasizing that this action has created a dangerous trend in international relations and is a conscious move towards escalating tensions.
The Iranian ambassador to Berlin added: The third consequence is the increase in distrust towards the founders and supporters of this resolution following their repeated breaches of commitments in the JCPOA, activation of the trigger mechanism, practices of economic terrorism, and direct and illegal interventions in Iran’s internal affairs under the cover of selective human rights, which will ultimately lead to a decrease in Europe’s weight and credibility in West Asian equations.
Nili also considered the application of the title “terrorist” to a sovereign institution to be reminiscent of the logic of force and the law of the jungle, and said it undermines the foundations of international law.
He concluded by emphasizing that the message of this action is that it is regrettable that Europe has consciously chosen the costly path of confrontation instead of reforming its behavior.
