72% of Zionists want an end to the war in Gaza.
The Palestinian news agency Shehab reported, citing the Israeli Channel 12 television, that 72 percent of the residents of the occupied territories approve of a prisoner exchange in exchange for an end to the war in Gaza.
According to the report, 56 percent of voters affiliated with the Likud party, the ruling party in the occupied territories, also want to reach an agreement to exchange prisoners and end the war.
The survey also addressed the issue of the trial of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, adding that 42 percent of Zionists believe that the court should not agree to Netanyahu’s requests to postpone the hearings, but 41 percent want the Israeli court to agree to postpone his trial.
The news network reported, citing sources close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, that he has expressed his readiness more than ever to reach a prisoner exchange agreement.
According to the network, the main remaining disagreement in the case relates to the number of prisoners who are to be exchanged within the framework of this agreement.
On the other hand, the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Aharonot, citing an Israeli official who asked not to be named, claimed that “significant progress has been made in the Gaza negotiations.” The Zionist official claimed that it is expected that an agreement in Gaza can be reached within a few weeks.
