73% of French people no longer considered Washington an ally of Paris.
According to Sputnik, the latest poll by the French Elabe Institute shows that about three-quarters of the population of this country no longer considers the United States to be an ally of France.
Also, in the survey, which was commissioned by the French radio and television channel BFMTV, a similar percentage of respondents described the verbal altercation and tension between US President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Friday as “surprising.”
The survey was conducted on March 3 and 4 with the participation of more than 1,000 French people.
After the altercation, which led to the expulsion of Zelensky and his entourage from the White House, the media, citing informed sources, reported the suspension of US military aid to Ukraine.
During the meeting between Trump and Zelensky, an agreement was supposed to be signed by the parties to transfer the United States ‘ concession to exploit Ukraine’s scarce natural resources.
Zelensky, who initially said he “does not think he owes Trump an apology,” was pressured by Washington’s decision to suspend military aid and said last night in a message expressing regret for what happened at the White House that he was “ready to sign a mining contract with Washington at any time and in any appropriate form.”
