80% drop in revenues from the Israeli port of Eilat

PNN – Israeli sources announced that as a result of the naval blockade by Yemeni armed forces against the Israeli port of Eilat, the port’s revenues have dropped by 80%.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al-Mayadeen, the Zionist magazine Marker announced that the revenues of the Port of Eilat in 2024 have decreased by 80% as a result of the naval blockade imposed by the Yemeni armed forces and the prevention of ships from docking at the port.

In this regard, the Israeli cabinet is scheduled to vote on a bill for conditional compensation of 3.2 million shekels at its meeting next Sunday.

Israeli sources announced that from the beginning of 2025 to mid-May, only 6 ships have docked at the port of Eilat, which has caused 21, port employees to be sent on unpaid leave. During the past year, only 16 ships docked at the port of Eilat.

Eilat Port revenues in 2023 amounted to 212 million shekels, which fell by more than 80% in 2024 to 42 million shekels. In 2023, over 134 ships docked at Eilat Port.
