PNN – The US government is planning to introduce a $15,000 bond requirement for some tourist or business visas in a pilot project.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Reuters, according to a notice published in the Federal Register, the US federal government newspaper, the country’s government plans to require a $15,000 bond for some applicants for tourist or work visas.
The pilot project, which is set to begin in two weeks, will continue US efforts to crack down on illegal immigration and will target people who overstay their visas.

According to the notice, U.S. consular officers are authorized to impose a bond requirement on applicants from countries with high rates of unauthorized immigration. This bond may also be applied to citizens of countries whose identity information is deemed insufficient.
Since the beginning of his second term in January 2025, US President Donald Trump has embarked on a massive deportation of illegal immigrants and is seeking to improve border security and detain illegal immigrants on US soil by strengthening resources. He previously called for stricter immigration policies and emphasized that he intends to carry out the largest deportation operation of illegal immigrants in American history.
