“Is the arrest of a deranged individual or a Trump critic sparking deeper questions? What’s truly happening?”g on at the UN?
The White House official worked in the Department of Health and Human Services’ International Affairs Division, and served in New York City as a support worker for Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services, and the department’s leadership team at the United Nations General Assembly.
Deputy White House press secretary Anna Kelly told Fox News Digital that a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services official was physically and verbally attacked by a “crazy leftist” who somehow got through multiple layers of security at the U.N. headquarters and followed him to the bathroom.
The White House said the official was safe and the “crazy individual” had been arrested, adding that the incident was part of a “troubling and dangerous series of failures at the U.N., following the vandalism that occurred before and during Trump’s speech.
Kelly told Fox News Digital that the U.S. Secret Service is investigating “how this violent protester got into a major national security event.”
A source told Fox News Digital that the man was charged with assault, aggravated assault, attempted assault and unlawful possession of a weapon. The man has now been released and is expected to appear in court on November 13, the source said.
Kelly said the United Nations must answer why these very disturbing incidents continue to occur against the president of the United States and his staff.
The White House spokesman said the United Nations itself has acknowledged that it has lost its way.
