A prisoner with 21 life sentences; a fighter who was the Zionists’ greatest nightmare.
According to Al Jazeera, “Thabit Mardawy” is one of the Palestinian prisoners with heavy sentences who was released on January 25, 2025, during the prisoner exchange between Hamas and the Israeli regime within the framework of the Gaza ceasefire agreement.
Thabit Mardawy was born in 1976 in the city of Araba in the city of Jenin and joined the Islamic Jihad movement at the beginning of its establishment. During the Al-Aqsa Intifada in 2000, he was one of the commanders of Saraya Al-Quds, the military wing of Islamic Jihad.
Mardawy is married and has a son named Osama, but because he was constantly pursued by the Zionists and had to flee, he only saw his son when he was one year old. He completed his early education in the schools of the city of Araba in Jenin and received his diploma with honors while he was in the prisons of the Zionist enemy. Then he joined the Free University of Jerusalem to study economics, but he was unable to complete his studies.
