A released Israeli prisoner confesses to the humane treatment by Hamas.
While new testimonies from Palestinian and Israeli prisoners reveal the clear moral and behavioral differences between Palestinian resistance fighters and soldiers of the Zionist occupation army, the confession of one of the Israeli prisoners released from Gaza has sparked a wave of reflection, a confession that shows the clear difference between the resistance’s behavior and the inhumane methods of the Zionist regime towards Palestinian prisoners.
According to a report on Thursday by IRNA, “Matan Engerst”, one of these Israeli soldiers, after being released during the prisoner exchange with Hamas, praised the humane behavior of the Hamas movement fighters and acknowledged that the Palestinian resistance forces treated him humanely and provided all his requests, including the means of worship, and did not restrict him.
In an interview with Israeli media, Engrest added: “During my captivity, I prayed freely and in whatever way I wanted. The Palestinian forces provided me with everything I wanted, even providing me with prayer materials and a Torah.”
The freed Israeli soldier went on to emphasize that he once miraculously survived an Israeli airstrike.
Engrest’s father had said yesterday after his son’s release: “Matan used to pray three times a day and received a prayer book from a Hamas official. Now that he has been released, it is unbelievable that he can choose from all this food and drink water. He says that they had nothing there in Gaza and that they went through hell, but he is now healthy and getting stronger every day.”
