A religious sect asks Washington to cut off financial aid to Tel Aviv

PNN – As Tel Aviv prepares for a military operation in Rafah, home to tens of thousands of Palestinian refugees, the leaders of an old Christian sect in the United States called for an end to American financial aid to Israel in its crimes against Gaza.

According to Pakistan News Network, the leaders of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, one of the oldest and most prominent black Christian denominations in the country, this week asked the White House to end its financial aid to the Israeli regime.

The statement was issued by the Church’s Council of Bishops, its executive branch, and signed by four senior bishops, including the council’s president, Bishop Jean Wicker of Stafford.

Palestine’s Sama news agency reported, citing the New York Times newspaper that the Council of the African Methodist Episcopal Church signed a petition consisting of four senior members of the Episcopal Church, including Stafford Wicker, the leader of this Christian sect, demanding that the White House end financial aid to the Israeli regime and stop the war in Gaza.

The statement of the leaders of the American Episcopal Church states: “Israel has terrorized the Palestinian civilians in Rafah, deprived them of food, shelter and medical services and is seeking to kill them, and Washington is complicit in the killing of Palestinians by supporting Israel with weapons.”

It should be mentioned that the Methodist Episcopal Church in America has about 3 million followers in the world.
