PNN – American media announced on Sunday that in addition to two C-130 aircraft, the United States lost four of its MH-6 helicopters in yesterday’s operation.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Two U.S. officials told ABC News that two C-130 aircraft that were part of the rescue mission were shot down during operations in Iran yesterday.
The outlet cited another U.S. official as saying that the U.S. military also lost four small MH-6 helicopters used in the rescue mission, adding to the list of aircraft shot down in the past two days.
Previously, field evidence indicated the downing of a light special operations helicopter, the MH-6 Little Bird, in this operation, a helicopter that plays a key role in infiltration and recovery operations for US Special Forces.
The MH-6 Little Bird helicopter, manufactured by Sikorsky Aircraft, is a light, ultra-agile special operation aircraft designed for infiltration, reconnaissance, tactical support, and extraction missions for Special Forces.
This helicopter has become a vital tool in the US Army’s complex tactical operations due to its small size, retractable rotors, and ability to be deployed on transport aircraft such as the MC-130J Commando II.
