PNN – A US official has said that Washington is considering lifting financial sanctions and lifting the ban on selling Iranian oil.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, ABC quoted the American official as saying: Progress has been made in negotiations with Iran, but there are still details that need to be discussed.
He added: The Iranian side has informed us that it will return with detailed proposals within two weeks.
The American official also said that Iran has raised the idea of suspending uranium enrichment, but this does not meet Donald Trump’s demands.
He noted that Washington believes that if Iran can formulate and prepare a specific proposal, an agreement will be possible.
According to the American official, the proposal put forward by Iran includes monitoring of the nuclear program and attractive economic incentives.
He noted that Washington is considering lifting financial sanctions and lifting the ban on Iranian oil sales.
Foreign Policy’s claim about the nuclear negotiations process
Meanwhile, Foreign Policy magazine reported on Wednesday evening, quoting a diplomat: If Iran thinks it can drag out the negotiations until the US midterm elections, it is deeply mistaken.
Foreign Policy magazine continued its report by writing that Washington’s patience with the prolonged negotiation process will end much sooner than the diplomatic timeframe that Iran considers realistic.
In another news report, CNN reported, citing sources, that Israel has increased its alert level in the past 24 hours, due to tensions with Iran.
The media outlet also cited two Israeli sources as saying that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held security meetings this week to assess the level of preparedness regarding Iran.
