Abu Ubaydah: Our connection with the group protecting Aidan Alexander has been cut off.
Al Jazeera quoted Abu Ubaidah, spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, as saying: “We announce that we currently have no contact with the group protecting Eidan Alexander, and this occurred after a direct bombardment that targeted their location, and we have continued our efforts to reach them until now.”
He added: “Our assessments indicate that the occupying army is deliberately trying to escape the pressures of the dual-citizen prisoners case and to continue the genocidal war against the Palestinian people.”
It is worth noting that Eidan Alexander had previously stated in a video released by Hamas: “Every day I see that Netanyahu dominates Israel like a dictator. Three weeks ago, I heard that Hamas was ready to release me, but you opposed it and released me. The Israeli cabinet, the US government, and the army are all lying to the Israelis.”
He added: “President Trump, I believe that you can get me out of here alive, but on the other hand, I’ll tell Trump why he is a victim of Netanyahu’s lies. Every day, I see Israeli citizens demonstrating and doing everything they can, but the world does not care about them. Why do I have to see pictures of myself and other prisoners in different parts of Tel Aviv every day? Why am I not in America with my family? I want to return home safely, and every day the bombings are getting closer to us, and this is very difficult. I think we will not return home alive, and we have no hope.”
