Acknowledgment of Burrell on the failure of the reconciliation process with Israel

PNN – The European Union foreign policy official Josep Burrell said that everyone believed that peace would come to the Middle East region with normalization with Israel, but it did not happen.

According to the International group of Pakistan News Network, EU foreign policy official Josep Burrell said that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is no longer an Arab-Israeli conflict, but is now turning into a religious or civilizational battle. We must do everything to prevent this conflict.

“Al-Jazeera” news channel quoted the European Union’s foreign policy official as saying: Everyone believed that peace would come to the Middle East region with normalization with Israel, but it did not happen.

Burrell added: Conflicts in the Middle East have lasting effects on our policy towards Ukraine. International support for Ukraine may decrease due to the double standards seen in Europe.

The EU foreign policy official added: The people of both sides should live together in peace. They say that there is no document or agreement in this regard, but there is an agreement between them and it is the Oslo agreement.

Burrell stated: Despite this, the agreement was not realized and that is the problem. Conflicts have escalated over the past years. The question is why the Oslo agreement failed? Because forces appeared on both sides and prevented it.

He continued: They denied each other’s right to live and exist. Israel’s occupation of the West Bank increased, Palestinians were oppressed, and extremist groups took advantage of what happened over the years.

The European Union foreign policy official added: The tragedy in the Middle East is the result of the moral failure of Western diplomacy due to the lack of efforts to achieve peace.
