Acting Prime Minister of Pakistan: Afghanistan’s stability is one of Islamabad’s priorities

Pak Sahafat – “Anwar Haq Kakar”, the acting Prime Minister of Pakistan, said in a meeting in Washington that stability in Afghanistan is one of the priorities of the foreign policy of Pakistan and the United States.

According to Pak Sahafat News Agency’s Saturday report from Afghanistan’s TOLO News, the Prime Minister of Pakistan mentioned the efforts of Islamabad to encourage the Taliban to respect the rights of women in Afghanistan at the meeting of the think tank of the Council of Foreign Relations.

According to TOLO News, Thomas West, the special representative of the United States, met with the foreign minister of the interim government of Pakistan on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly and discussed various issues, including the need for women’s education and humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

At the same time, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna also criticized the oppression of women in Afghanistan due to their gender in the UN General Assembly.

He said: “In Afghanistan, women are oppressed by the Taliban because of their gender. Unfortunately, they have placed the path of segregation and violence against women at the center of their political identity.”

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Taliban, also said in response to these statements: “Regarding these special issues such as education and work, there is a need for an opportunity to comply with the Islamic Sharia and there is a need for further investigation.”

Previously, the US special representative for Afghanistan had stated that the restrictions imposed on women and girls in Afghanistan affect their families the most.
