After 6 weeks of the complete siege of the Zionist regime, the food reserves in Gaza are running out

PNN – Reuters news agency wrote: The action of the Israeli regime in preventing aid from entering Gaza has ended the food that was stored during the ceasefire. This is while the Zionist regime denies that Gaza is facing a hunger crisis.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Reuters wrote: The (Zionist regime’s) bombs have not yet killed Rehab Akhras and his family, but he says that if the border crossings, which the Israeli regime has closed since the beginning of March, are not opened soon, they will surely become victims of starvation.

A few weeks have passed since the Zionist regime cut off access to aid for the two million and 300 people in Gaza, and food supplies built up since a ceasefire was declared at the beginning of this year are running out. The distribution of meat has ended and the bakeries are closed and the markets are empty.

He and his family of 13, who live in a camp made of plastic sheets in Khan Yunis, use cardboard to light a fire and boil a can of beans.

He says: We are a family of 13 people, what can a can of beans do for us? We survived the war and the attacks, but neither we, nor our children, can survive hunger.

In the northern Nusirat district, hundreds of Palestinians line up for hot cooked rice at an emergency outdoor kitchen. Small children are stuck in front of the line, shaking buckets to bring home something for their families.

Aid agencies involved in providing the emergency meals say they must stop within days unless they can bring in more food supplies.

WFP previously provided bread in 25 bakeries across the Gaza Strip. All those bakeries are now closed and soon the distribution of food parcels will have to stop due to reduced food rations.

Juliet Thoma, an official of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for the Palestinians (UNRWA), said: “All basic supplies are running out.” Commodity prices have increased exponentially over the past month since Israeli forces besieged the Gaza Strip.

He added: This means that babies and children go to bed hungry. Gaza is getting very, very close to starvation every day without these basic necessities.

An official of a medical charity says that he has encountered severely malnourished children and pregnant women. According to him, nursing mothers themselves are so hungry that they cannot breastfeed their babies.

The hunger crisis in Gaza has intensified while the Zionist regime denies this crisis. The Zionist army has prevented aid and food supplies from entering this area under the pretext of Hamas’s access to aid.
