PNN – The Secretary-General of the Southern Yemen Liberation Front, referring to the ongoing power struggle between Saudi Arabia and the UAE in the occupied regions of Yemen, expressed doubt about Abu Dhabi’s withdrawal from Yemen, stating that the only winners of this war are America and Tel Aviv.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network citing Al-Masirah, Aref al-Amiri, the Secretary-General of the Southern Yemen Liberation Front, in remarks reacting to developments in the occupied provinces of the country and the clashes among mercenaries of the invading coalition, stated: The series of developments Yemen has witnessed since last November—from the Saudi airstrikes on the port of Mukalla to the subsequent consecutive statements from various parties and the order for the UAE’s withdrawal from Yemen—show that what is happening in the occupied southern and eastern provinces of Yemen is a war of influence and power among the regimes of the invading coalition, not a spontaneous or sudden event.

Aref al-Amiri emphasized that the conflict among members of the invading coalition is not a new issue; its roots lie in geographical, political, military, and economic conflicts dating back decades. Today, each side strives to present itself as the most effective tool for implementing the Zionist project in the region, and they have found no more suitable arena than the occupied lands of southern and eastern Yemen to achieve these goals.

He added: These agendas are implemented through domestic mercenaries who are employed as cheap tools in the service of Saudi and Emirati projects. Saudi Arabia’s 24-hour ultimatum to the UAE for the withdrawal of its elements from Yemen ended without any actual withdrawal on the ground, and despite the UAE Defense Ministry’s announcement of ending its military presence in Yemen, Abu Dhabi continues to maintain a presence on Yemeni soil.

This Yemeni figure stated: The UAE had previously announced its complete withdrawal from Yemen in 2019, but Abu Dhabi’s military presence, especially on Yemeni islands and the strategic facilities it has built in recent years, continues.

Al-Amiri clarified that the UAE has maintained its military bases and airports on the islands of Mayyun, Abd al-Kuri, Socotra, and ports on Yemen’s western coast. Abu Dhabi has also deviated from the declared framework of the invading coalition and moved towards imposing direct control over vital ports and trade waterways.

He further stated that these actions by the UAE have caused concern for Saudi Arabia; particularly as the efforts by Emirati-aligned elements of the Southern Transitional Council to dominate mineral-rich areas, especially oil and gas fields in the provinces of Hadramawt, Shabwa, and Al-Mahra, continue.

This Yemeni figure emphasized that, of course, Saudi Arabia’s concern does not stem from a desire to preserve Yemen’s unity or alleviate the suffering of its people, but rather from conflicting interests within the camp of the invading coalition. The real winners of these conflicts are not the Yemeni people, but America and the Zionist regime.

Aref al-Amiri concluded by stating that from the first day of the invading coalition’s war against the country in March 2015, Yemen has emphasized that the primary goal of this aggression is to divide and fragment Yemen under misleading pretexts, foremost among them the so-called restoration of the legitimate government.
