Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed: Al-Julani gave his brother an important position

PNN – Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed news website, citing its sources, wrote that “Ahmad al-Sharaa”, nicknamed “Abu Muhammad al-Julani“, the head of the Syrian interim government, gave his brother an important position in the country’s ruling apparatus.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, the Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed website, citing Syrian sources, wrote: “Maher Al-Sharaa,” the brother of Ahmed Al-Sharaa, the head of the Syrian interim government, has found an important position in the new Damascus administration.

These sources said: Maher al-Shara has been appointed to the position of Secretary-General of the Syrian Presidency (similar to the Chief of Staff of the President), replacing “Abdul Rahman Salameh” who has been appointed to another position.

Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed wrote: The Secretary General of the Presidency is an important position in the presidency, and this position exists in some Arab countries, and it differs slightly depending on the political and administrative structure of each country, but the person who holds this position is responsible for managing presidential affairs in administrative and structural sectors.

The site added: The person who holds this position is the liaison between the president and various government institutions and organizations. This person is also responsible for organizing presidential affairs activities, including agendas, arranging meetings, official trips, and managing administrative affairs, supervising staff and institutions affiliated with the presidency, representing the president on some official occasions, and some other duties.

According to Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed, Maher Al-Sharaa held the post of acting Minister of Health in the interim government of “Mohammed Al-Bashir”, which was formed on December 16, 2024. He was born in Damascus in 1973 and was a health consultant for hospitals in northern Syria in 2022 and 2023.
