Al-Arabi al-Jadeed’s account of efforts to start indirect negotiations between Hamas and Tel Aviv.
A newspaper close to Qatar claimed that mediators are trying to resume prisoner exchange negotiations between Hamas and the Zionist regime, but Hamas continues to insist on its demands.
Al-Arabi Al-Jadeed newspaper (near Qatar) reported, quoting Egyptian sources, that the process of negotiations regarding the exchange of prisoners has started again, but it is still in its early stages.
According to these sources, the start of negotiations means Israel’s willingness [to exchange prisoners] and present its ideas to the other side (Hamas) through mediators, and what is happening is a very big change.
The first phase of the exchange of Palestinian and Israeli prisoners, which lasted for a week, took place with the mediation of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States. This exchange ended on December 1 (12 days ago) and during it, 84 Israeli prisoners and 240 Palestinian prisoners were exchanged.
Egyptian sources further said that the mediators have made proposals to Hamas to exchange prisoners in exchange for a humanitarian ceasefire, but Hamas has announced its position and said that without a complete ceasefire, it will not accept any proposal and negotiations will not begin.
These sources also reported that the Zionist regime tried to force this movement to start negotiations by leaking news about the possibility of pumping water into Hamas tunnels. On the other hand, Hamas and other resistance groups have increased their military operations in the past two days, and this issue has caused double pressure on the Zionist War Council to stop the war.
According to Egyptian sources, many efforts are underway by mediators to return the negotiating teams to Doha.
The Saudi Ilaf newspaper recently claimed that Tel Aviv and Doha are conducting secret negotiations in a European country to agree on the second phase of the exchange of prisoners.
Ilaf, citing a senior diplomat, claimed that delegations from Tel Aviv and Doha are preparing a new formula for the exchange of prisoners, which includes women, children, the elderly, and youth.
In this report, it is also claimed that in this agreement, 3 senior officers of the Zionist regime will be exchanged, whom Hamas has captured.
