He wrote in his tweet: US actions against Iran are based on hypothetical and possible scenarios and no real evidence of an immediate threat has been provided.
The former official also added: All wars, even wars of choice, have huge human and financial costs, and for this reason, principles and restrictions have been established by international institutions.
Recalling the experience of the US invasion of Iraq, ElBaradei stated: It seems that we have not yet benefited from the lessons of history and the likelihood of repeating past mistakes is very high.
The former Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, while emphasizing the need for restraint and adherence to international principles, called on American officials to refrain from escalating tensions and pursue diplomacy as the best way to resolve disputes.
