PNN – A regional media outlet revealed that non-permanent members of the UN Security Council are calling for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Al Jazeera Qatar announced that informed sources in the United Nations Security Council announced that 10 non-permanent member countries of the council have called for a vote on a draft resolution that emphasizes the need for a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

This action comes after the United Nations voted overwhelmingly in favor of the establishment of an independent Palestinian state five days ago.

Last Friday, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a historic resolution supporting the “New York Declaration,” which calls for concrete and irreversible steps to establish an independent Palestinian state.

The resolution, which was proposed by France and Saudi Arabia, was adopted with 142 votes in favor, 10 against, and 12 abstentions.
