PNN – Al Jazeera news channel wrote in a report: The arrest and severe suppression of student gatherings and demonstrations by the American armed police has revealed only one issue, it is that there is no freedom of expression in this country.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, citing Al Jazeera, student protests in American universities continue to protest the killing of the Palestinian people, while the American police, unlike in the past weeks, abandoned their conservative policy and violently suppressed these gatherings. The violent reaction of the police by the American media, like the politicians of this country, is reflected in a way that it is a kind of spreading “Semitism”, and even Joe Biden is not afraid to say this in his speeches.
Student sit-ins and demonstrations are not limited to students only, and professors and other political activists have also joined this movement. And they all believe that what has happened in the past days in America is the exposure of the false claim of freedom of speech in this country, which could not withstand several weeks of silent sit-ins and student tents in the courtyards of various universities.
Political activist Nora Erkat, New York University media professor Paula Chakravarty, Simon Fraser University professor of global communication Adel Iskandar, and student activist Elijah Kallenberg from the University of Texas at Austin all emphasize that the only thing that is not being respected in these protests is freedom of expression.
Student activists and university professors say that the police are using all their weapons to suppress the students’ voices.

Following the attack on students at New York universities, especially Columbia University, and the violent treatment of pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel students, the head of the New York police patrol announced: About 300 people have been arrested at Columbia University and City College of New York.
American authorities and police on Wednesday local time after suppressing student protests, especially at New York’s Columbia University and storming this university and arresting dozens of pro-Palestinian students, defended their actions in a press conference.
NYPD Patrol Chief John Chell said at a news conference with New York City officials: Of the 300 people who were arrested by New York police officers inside and outside the Columbia University building, most of those arrested were from the University’s City College.
The NYPD official said 282 people have been arrested in connection with the Hamilton Hall attack, including 173 from City College and 109 from Columbia University.
He added that authorities are still determining the exact number of arrests unrelated to both universities.
