Al Jazeera: The surprise of Iran’s elections is the remarkable presence of Iranian women

In this regard, the correspondent of Al Jazeera news channel in Tehran has discussed in a detailed report about the different areas of voting in different parts of Tehran.

Al Jazeera’s reporter pointed to the widespread popularity of the people and the formation of long queues for voting, especially in the final hours of voting, to the significant presence of Tehrani citizens in some voting areas, including the crowd in front of Hosseinieh “Arshad” on Shariati Street, and Shahr Ray, similar to previous periods.

The Qatari Al Jazeera network reacted by allocating a meaningful headline for this round of elections about the large presence of Iranian women in the 12th round of the Islamic Council elections along with the sixth round of the Assembly of Experts elections and the significant presence of women in this round of elections considering the events of last year in Iran expressed surprise.

In this regard, Al Jazeera channel devoted its special news headline about the current elections in Iran to the “significant presence of Iranian women” and the prominent event of this round of elections was the special and significant and extensive presence of women in the parliamentary elections.

In this connection, the Qatari channel, quoting “Ansieh Khazali”, the vice president for women and family affairs, announced the candidacy of at least 1,700 Iranian women in the current parliamentary elections.

In a part of its report, Al Jazeera interviewed some citizens, contrary to the usual atmosphere created by foreign and oppositional media to make the people’s political participation look less, and reflected people’s opinions in this interview.

Al Jazeera reflected the opinions of Iranian women on the widespread success of women in this period of competitions and the significant presence of women in their self-confidence and motivation in changing legal articles for civil liberties and economic, political and cultural prosperity based on the laws in the constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In a part of its report, citing polls, this network considered the victory of the fundamentalist list probable in this round of the competition.

The twelfth term of the Islamic Council elections was held with voting in 1218 main and sub constituencies across Iran. More than 15,000 people have been confirmed qualified in the elections of the Islamic Council, of which 12% were women and 88% were men.
