According to “Al-Arabiya” website, before publishing the report of the meeting between Blinken and Bin Salman, “Matthew Miller”, the spokesperson of the US Department of State, said that Blinken also met with “Joseph Burrell”, the foreign policy official of the European Union, who also visited Al-Ala city. has had and negotiated with him about trying to prevent the spread of the war in Gaza.
The US government also announced that Blinken previously had talks with “Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan”, the President of the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi, and in these talks “he emphasized the importance of preventing the further spread of war.”
Al-Monitor also speculated that Blinken is expected to have discussed the Yemeni army’s attacks in the Red Sea in support of Gaza during his talks with Mohammed bin Salman.
According to the Al-Monitor website, Blinken’s quick trip to the region was carried out following the continued increase in concerns about the war between the Zionist regime and Hamas, and a senior official also said that another focus of Blinken’s meeting with bin Salman is the issue of the so-called potential normalization of relations. Riyadh is with the Zionist regime, which was suspended due to the recent war in Gaza.
Blinken also said during his visit to Qatar on Sunday: “This is a war that can easily spread to other places and even cause more insecurity and even more suffering.”
A senior American official said that the Blinken meeting with Mohammed bin Salman was an opportunity for America to gauge the position of the Saudis regarding the process of normalizing relations with the Zionist regime.
Washington is currently the biggest supporter of the Zionist regime’s attacks on the Gaza Strip and has repeatedly rejected the UN Security Council resolution for an immediate ceasefire in this strip.
On the other hand, America is considered the biggest and most important supplier of weapons to this regime in the massive attacks against Gaza.
