Al-Sudani: The historic victory over ISIS was humanity’s victory against a global threat.
According to Al-Mayadeen, the Iraqi Prime Minister delivered a speech on Monday on the seventh anniversary of the victory over the terrorist group ISIS.
In a speech on the occasion, “Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani” said: “All Iraqis are proud of their achievements seven years ago. The decisive victory over the defeated ISIS group confirms the importance of unity among the people and caution against the consequences of inciting conflicts.”
Al-Sudani added: “The sacrifices and sacrifices of the martyrs and wounded and the fatwa of the Supreme Iraqi Authority were factors that turned the victory into a reality that we can be proud of throughout history.”
Pointing out that “the day of victory over ISIS has become a turning point in the path and destiny of the Iraqi people,” he emphasized: “Iraqis fought deviant ideas on behalf of the free world, and terrorism no longer has a place in Iraq. Victory over ISIS is the victory of humanity against a threat that terrified the region and the world.”
The Iraqi Prime Minister also called for eliminating the gaps that enabled terrorism to penetrate Iraq in 2014.
In response to the developments in Syria, Al-Sudani also stated that Iraq is following developments in the country and expressed hope that “countries in the region and the entire world will assume responsibility for maintaining Syria’s security and sovereignty.”
The Iraqi Prime Minister also emphasized “the necessity of handing over the power of choice to the Syrian people, respecting their free will, and international responsibility to preserve Syria’s territorial integrity and protect the diversity in this country.”
