PNN – Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights of the Palestinian people, stressed that she has been targeted by a campaign of destruction and defamation for condemning the Israeli regime’s war on Gaza and the West Bank.
Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the human rights of the Palestinians, stated in an interview with Al Jazeera that the attacks and pressures against her are insignificant compared to what Palestinians are facing.
She stressed that she has been the target of a campaign of destruction and defamation for condemning the Israeli war on Gaza and the West Bank. Albanese added that these attacks have intensified after the publication of her reports on the violations of Palestinian rights.
The UN official also called on Western countries to examine and discuss reports of violations, rather than prosecuting and pressuring her.
She once again emphasized the need to hold the occupying regime accountable and hold it accountable for human rights violations and to protect Palestinian civilians.
It is worth noting that the French Foreign Minister had called for Albanese’s resignation due to criticism of the Zionist occupation regime and the genocide in Gaza.
