Algerian Ambassador: Targeting Iran’s military and civilian infrastructure violates the UN Charter

PNN – Algeria’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations said at an emergency meeting of the Security Council regarding Israel’s attacks on Iran: We consider targeting Iran’s military and civilian infrastructure to be provocative and unjustifiable actions that violate the UN Charter.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network, Ammar Benjameh, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Algeria to the United Nations, said on Friday evening local time at an emergency meeting of the Security Council, referring to the provisions of the UN Charter: Israel’s action is a clear violation of this international document, and today’s developments show that our concerns were legitimate.

The Algerian ambassador, stating that Israel’s justifications for attacking Iran are unacceptable, called on UN-affiliated institutions to ask Israel, as the only regime outside nuclear safeguards, to join these safeguards so that the region can take steps towards a nuclear-weapon-free path.

Bin Jammeh condemned military action and threats against any country’s nuclear facilities as a violation of the UN Charter and, referring to reports from the International Atomic Energy Agency, expressed concern about the dangers arising from the release of radioactive and nuclear materials.

He called on UN members to prevent the repetition of illegal actions and similar attacks by Israel on nuclear facilities in other countries.

The Algerian ambassador also referred to Israel’s attacks on Lebanon, Syria, Gaza, and Palestine, and the occupation of new areas of these countries’ territory, the kidnapping of citizens of these countries, the starvation of Gaza residents, and the genocide of Palestinians.
