America: In 48 hours, “extremists” will attack the capital of Russia.
According to Tass, the American Embassy in Moscow issued a statement warning the citizens of this country in Russia to avoid entering crowded centers and unnecessary gatherings in the next 48 hours, because “extremists” are planning to carry out attacks in the city of Moscow.
In a statement posted on the embassy’s website, the US embassy said that “the embassy is monitoring reports that extremists have imminent plans to target large gatherings in Moscow, including concerts, and US citizens should be advised to avoid attending large gatherings in the next 48 hours.”
Without elaborating, the statement asked Americans in Russia to remain vigilant and “check local media for updates.”
Russian authorities have not yet commented on this announcement from the US Embassy.
This warning of the American embassy is issued amid ongoing tensions between Moscow and Washington. On Thursday, the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned US Ambassador Lynn Tracy and asked the embassy to cut all ties with three US-backed NGOs that were recently banned from Russia.
The State Department also threatened to expel “all US Embassy employees” who “interfere in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation, including subversive campaigns and disinformation” in the context of the conflict in Ukraine and the upcoming Russian presidential election.
