America seeks to sell 8 billion dollars of weapons to Israel

PNN – An American media announced on Friday that the administration of US President Joe Biden has informally informed the country’s Congress of the decision to sell arms to the Zionist regime worth eight billion dollars, including fighter ammunition and attack helicopters.

According to the report of Pakistan News Network from Axios, the report states that this decision needs the approval of the committees of the House of Representatives and the Senate and includes artillery shells and air-to-air missiles for fighters to defend against threats such as drones.

An American official told Axios: The President of the United States has clearly stated that Israel has the right to defend its citizens and prevent the attack of Iran and its affiliated forces in accordance with international laws and international humanitarian law.

According to Axios, this weapons package also includes bombs and small warheads.

According to the new published data, since October 7, 2023, the United States has spent more than 22 billion dollars to support the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria.

According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, from 2019 to 2023, the United States provided 69% of Israel’s weapons, which has increased to 78% this year.

According to this institute, by December 2023, the United States had delivered more than 10,000 tons of weapons worth 2.4 billion dollars to the Zionist regime.

This number reached 50,000 tons by August 2024, which was transported by hundreds of planes and ships.

According to the Council on Foreign Relations, an American think tank, since 1946, Washington has provided more than $310 billion in military and economic aid to the Israeli regime.

In 2016, the United States and Israel signed a 10-year military aid agreement worth 38 billion dollars, which is still being implemented.

According to this agreement, the US allocates 3.8 billion dollars annually to finance Israel’s military capability and its missile defense.

The allocation of military emergency packages to the Israeli regime in 2024 increased the value of military aid to the regime by billions of dollars, including $14.1 billion in US military aid to the Israeli regime approved in February and $2.5 billion Arms package in March.

This is while activists and human rights organizations have criticized the use of these weapons in civilian areas that are carried out with limited US supervision.

In 2024, the United States allocated more than 100 arms contracts to Israel, which will make it possible to support the missile defense systems and complete the weapons reserves of this regime.

These deals were signed despite ongoing reports about the impact of these weapons on Gaza’s civilian population.

Since October 7, 2023, following the failure of the Al-Aqsa storm operation by the Palestinian resistance groups led by Hamas, the Israeli regime has started a war of destruction against the Gaza Strip. During this period, most of the houses and infrastructures of the Gaza Strip have been severely destroyed in this war, and the miserable siege and severe humanitarian crisis, along with the unprecedented famine and hunger, threaten the lives of the residents of this area.

Israel’s attacks are not limited to the Gaza Strip, and the occupation regime of Jerusalem has expanded its belligerence in the West Bank, Lebanon and other Middle East regions with the full support of the United States and its allies.
