America stops military aid to Egypt.

America stops military aid to Egypt.

According to National, “Ben Cardin”, the new chairman of the foreign relations committee of the US Senate, released a statement and announced that the sale of military weapons and financial aid to Egypt depends on the “improvement of the human rights situation” in this country.

Ben Cardin took over the chairmanship of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Senate last week after the resignation of Senator Bob Menendez due to his indictment in the federal corruption investigation on charges of accepting bribes in favor of Cairo and three Egyptian businessmen.

Ben Cardin’s statement stated that “I intend to fully exercise the committee’s oversight responsibilities and authority to maintain foreign military funds and arms sales to the Egyptian government if concrete, meaningful and sustainable steps are taken to improve human rights conditions in the country.” If they don’t take it, I will do it.”

The US Department of Justice announced in early October that an indictment had been issued against Robert Menendez, a well-known Democratic senator, and his wife on the charge of receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes. It has been said that based on evidence, Bob Menendez and his wife have accepted numerous gold bars and cash from Egyptian merchants.

According to the statements of the prosecutors of this case, Robert Menendez, the chairman of the foreign relations committee of the US Senate, and his wife accepted a large part of the bribes for secretly supporting the interests of the Egyptian government. This American Democratic senator and his wife have denied all the charges. Currently, three criminal charges have been filed against the prominent US senator and his wife: bribery, fraud and extortion, and abuse of public trust.

The Ministry of Justice has announced the names of the bribe-paying businessmen in this case, Vael Hana, Jose Uribe, and Fred Debs. According to the indictment, in addition to supporting the Egyptian government, the Menendez couple supported the interests of these three businessmen. Officials of the Department of Justice announced that an expensive Mercedes-Benz car that Jose Uribe, a New Jersey businessman, had donated to Bob Menendez was also found in the couple’s parking lot.
