America welcomed the Ansarullah delegation’s visit to Saudi Arabia

Pak Sahafat – The US State Department and the National Security Advisor of the White House issued separate statements and welcomed the presence of the delegation of Yemen’s Ansarullah Movement in Riyadh at the invitation of Saudi Arabia.

According to the report of the International group of Pak Sahafat News Agency, while the officials of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement are announcing the continuation of negotiations with Saudi Arabia, the American officials welcomed the presence of Sana’a delegation in Riyadh.

The US Department of State and White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan commented in two separate statements about the presence of the Yemeni Ansarullah delegation in Riyadh and the talks with Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia announced on Thursday that it has invited a delegation of Yemen’s Ansarullah Movement to travel to Riyadh and complete negotiations on achieving a comprehensive ceasefire in Yemen and a political solution to the conflicts in this country.

According to media reports, on Thursday and only two days after the sudden visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Muscat, the capital of Oman, the delegation of Omani mediators traveled to Sana’a along with the chief negotiator of the National Salvation Government of Yemen, Mohammed Abdul Salam.

“Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi”, a member of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, emphasized that talks with “Saudi Arabia as the leader of the coalition” are continuing, and pointed to Oman’s mediation to reach a solution. He said: We hope that a serious discussion will take place for the benefit of the two nations and that we will be able to overcome the challenges.

White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said: “We welcome the arrival of a senior Houthi delegation to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is the first official visit of Houthi representatives to Riyadh since the beginning of the war in Yemen about a decade ago. This (journey) comes after almost 18 consecutive months of calm that began after the UN-brokered ceasefire was implemented on April 2, 2022.

According to the US President’s security advisor, Biden has made de-escalation and ending the war in Yemen one of the main priorities of his foreign policy since the first weeks of his presidency. “The United States is proud to provide diplomatic support to these peace efforts in coordination with the Yemeni parties and the United Nations.”

“We commend the leadership of Saudi Arabia for this current initiative and thank the leadership of Oman for its important role,” Sullivan added. We call on all parties to this terrible conflict to strengthen and expand the benefits of the ceasefire, which has brought some peace to the Yemeni people, and finally end this war.”

The US State Department stated in its statement: “The United States welcomes the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the delegation led by the Houthis for dialogue in Riyadh. This important step towards peace expands the series of interactions between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis (Ansarullah).

The US State Department wrote at the end of its statement: “We are in the 18th month of peace since the ceasefire began on April 2, 2022. The United States looks forward to making progress on a sustainable ceasefire, inclusive Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue, and resolving the dire humanitarian crisis. We wish Saudi Arabia, Oman and all stakeholders the best of luck in this important meeting and encourage a return to a peace process that reflects the wide range of Yemeni actors and their aspirations.”
