PNN – An American security expert said: The president-elect of the United States should not return to the failed policy of maximum pressure against Iran.
According to the report of Pakistan News Network, “Daniel Deptris” in a note in the American newspaper “Chicago Tribune”, stating that the policy of maximum pressure against Iran failed during the first term of Trump’s presidency, said: In the past period, despite severe economic sanctions, Iran expanded its nuclear program and the sanctions could not bring Tehran to the negotiating table.
This expert on military issues added: The new Trump administration should adopt a more realistic and diplomatic approach towards Iran and consider international changes, such as improving relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

Deptris suggested the Trump administration to adopt a policy of diplomacy with flexibility towards Iran instead of strict policies against Iran and even give Iran concessions.
He added: A new agreement with Iran, even if it is not complete, is better than the failed strategy of maximum pressure.
In the first reactions to Trump’s victory in the November 5 election, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi announced: The American people have made their decision. And Iran respects their right to choose the president they want. The path ahead is also a “choice”. And this choice starts with “respect”.
He added: Iran is not looking for nuclear weapons that are it! This policy is based on Islamic teachings and our security calculations. Mutual trust is needed. This is not a one-way street.
