American media’s narrative of the heavy consequences of the Gaza war for Biden

PNN – In an article, the American newspaper “Christian Science Monitor” evaluated the unconditional support of the President of the United States, “Joe Biden” to the Zionist regime during the barbaric attacks on Gaza, along with its extensive diplomatic and political consequences for him.

According to Pakistan News Network, the American newspaper Christian Science Monitor wrote in this regard: When Biden expressed his strong support for Israel in the war against Hamas in a speech last month, he introduced the Zionist regime and Ukraine as two democratic countries that are in an existential battle against the hegemonic powers.

This newspaper goes on to remind: But the situation is not as the President of the United States imagines. Considering that on Monday, the number of people killed in Gaza has reached more than 10,000 people and Israel does not stop relentless attacks on the Gaza Strip, the humanitarian crisis in this strip, which was once called the most populated coastal area in the world, is getting deeper day by day.

This American media assessed the occurrence of this catastrophic humanitarian situation as the main reason for the decrease in the support of the Arab Muslim minority present in America for Biden and added: The polls conducted in the state of Michigan are among the clear examples that show that Biden’s supporters are decreasing, while the decisive support of the Arabs in 2020 played a big role in his victory.

Monitor did not consider this disappointment of Biden’s policies to be limited only to America and added: Abroad, and especially among Washington’s Arab partners, the opposition to Biden has intensified due to his full standing with Israel; In such a way that Anthony Blinken, the Minister of Foreign Affairs (of this country) also noticed this issue during his visit to Kharomianeh this week.

In their meeting with the US minister this week, Arab leaders asked him to pressure Israel to implement a ceasefire, something Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has consistently rejected.

Hugh Lovett, a senior expert on Middle East policy at the European Union, said: The policy of the White House has caused intense anger among the Arab countries and many other governments, and this has especially caused America to be accused of hypocrisy.

He went on to explain: America claims to ask Israel to adhere to international humanitarian laws, something that is not visible in Gaza.

According to this American observer, Washington should act in a way that benefits all parties in the long run after the October 7 attack by Hamas that killed 1,400 Israelis.

Lovet assessed such a step by Biden as difficult and added: Washington should embrace Israel on the one hand and at the same time ask it to moderate its actions in the war. But the Arab countries do not see any signs of balance in the behavior of the White House and only witness its firm support for the Zionist regime.

James Zogby, head of the Arab American Institute based in Washington, considered the biggest mistake of the American president after the deadly attacks of the Zionist regime on the Gaza Strip, denying the actual number of casualties and said: doubting the high number of Palestinian casualties was a big mistake that should not have been raised.

He called this insulting and added: This fact proved that from the point of view of an American leader, the lives of Palestinians are less important than others.

Others believe that Israel has jeopardized the establishment of strong relations with some Arab countries by continuing deadly attacks on the Gaza Strip.

John Alterman, Vice President and Director of the Middle East Program at the Washington Center for Strategic and International Studies, said: Arab countries are united in how to counter Israeli attacks to destroy Hamas, and for this reason, Israel must think about how to interact with its Arab neighbors in the post-Gaza war era. At the same time, America should also inform Tel Aviv about this very soon.
